For the 56th year, the Lehigh Short Course in Advances in Emulsion Polymerization and Latex Technology will be held from June 2-6, 2025.

One of the most popular and important features of this course is that on the fourth day all participants and lecturers gather in the evening for a Q & A session to discuss technical problems posed by the industrial participants.

Here is a testimonial by one of the recent participants:
Luis Benavides, a process chemist from Celanese, wrote, “You will understand your manufacturing process 20% more only after four days, 30% more after the Q/A session, and by the time the course is over you will feel empowered to tackle all obstacles that keep your plant from making the difference.”

Among the topics of industrial importance are: Read course abstracts for details.
• Technology of coatings, applications, formulation approaches, roles of emulsion polymers & colloidal materials in designing high performance decorative and protective coatings.
• Surfactants, colloidal stability, latex rheology.
• Reduction of residual monomers in latex systems.
• Branching and grafting in emulsion polymerization and implications.
•  Acrylic latexes, colloidal and film properties for coatings and adhesives.
• Emulsion and miniemulsion polymerization processes, mechanisms and kinetics.
• Characterization of latex particle size, and surface functional groups.
• Water-born epoxy and polyurethane.
