Sun Chemical and its parent company, the DIC Corporation, will present their newest pigment and resin technologies including advancements in automotive, industrial and sustainable coatings at CHINACOAT 2025 from November 25–27 in Shanghai, China.
“CHINACOAT is an important platform for the industry to learn how Sun Chemical and DIC are driving the future of color and coatings performance,” said Brian Panczyk, President of Color Materials, Sun Chemical. “Our innovations expand the limits of color and material science and support our customers’ sustainability and productivity goals worldwide.”
Pigment PremieresSun Chemical will unveil its latest effect pigment innovations at booth W1.F21 during the show. Recognized for their exceptional purity, performance and visual impact, several world product premieres will be on display, including new grades in the renowned Paliocrom, Lumina and Glacier portfolios.
Among the featured highlights will be Paliocrom Brilliant Ruby L 3558, Sun Chemical’s most intense bluish-red aluminum effect pigment. Offering extraordinary hiding power, brilliance and lightness and suitable for both solventborne and waterborne systems, Paliocrom Brilliant Ruby L 3558 is formulated for modern automotive and high-performance industrial coatings. The latest Paliocrominnovation, Paliocrom Premium Orange L 2900, will make its debutat the show.
Sun Chemical’s Lumina HD series continues to magnify exceptional chroma and subtle sparkle with high-definition, semi-transparent effect pigments based on fine fraction synthetic mica. The newest pigment in this line, Lumina HD Exterior Blue Russet S6903V, will be on display, delivering high-definition, semi-transparent, magenta chroma ideal for exterior automotive and industrial coatings applications.
From the Glacier pigment portfolio, Sun Chemical will premiere Glacier Exterior Ceramic White S1303M, a next-generation synthetic mica pearl pigment enabling intensely pure white shades with subtle satin effects. Pigments from the Glacier line are based on transparent synthetic mica and offer improved luster and brightness with a bluish reflection color that produces clean, cool sparkle effects.
Sun Chemical continues to invest in securing supply stability for high-performance pigment chemistries, particularly Perylene reds and blacks, through production optimization and capital investments. Sun Chemical also ensures compliance and future-readiness across its Heliogen blue and green Phthalocyanine pigments for automotive effect finishes, maintaining consistent purity and performance amid evolving regulations. Other automotive innovations on display will include the newly launched Chinese Automotive OEM trend styling and 2-wheeler trend styling show for motorcycles, featuring three high-chroma aesthetic themes of Extreme Ambition, Ultimate Lifestyle and True Commitment.
In addition to product showcases, Sun Chemical will highlight new digital tool features that offer direct access to product carbon footprint statements through the Pigment Finder platform, enhancing transparency and sustainability for customers worldwide.
