Stonebridge Coatings Laboratory, Inc., an independent ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory and consulting company, has expanded its footprint with the acquisition of adjacent space at its Howell, Michigan facility.

The expansion reflects continued growth over 25 years of supporting the coatings industry with formulation, consulting and testing services.  Customer demand has expanded beyond testing and development to include custom paint manufacturing. The expansion allows Stonebridge to manufacture 100+ gallon coating batches with custom color matching and small-batch flexibility while maintaining stringent quality control management. 

“This expansion is a reflection of the relationships we’ve built with our customers,” said Debora Hense-Hric, Technical Director. “As their needs have evolved, we’ve applied our technical expertise to their coatings’ formulation needs. The added facility helps us continue supporting them in the ways they’ve come to expect.”

The newly acquired space allows Stonebridge to enhance operational efficiency, increase capacity, and further develop its growing capabilities in custom coatings manufacturing. By expanding its physical footprint, the company positions itself to better serve both existing customers and new partners across a wide range of industries, including architectural, automotive, industrial and specialty markets.

What began in 2002 as a laboratory focused on testing and validation has evolved into a full-service partner for coatings solutions. This expansion, with start of operation June 2026, marks another step in Stonebridge’s ongoing commitment to helping customers move from problem identification to fully-realized solutions, all under one roof.
