The Supervisory Board of specialty chemicals company LANXESS has announced the extension of Frederique van Baarle’s contract as a member of its Board of Management. The new term, succeeding an initial three-year contract, is effective April 1, 2026, and extends through 2031.

The only Board member based outside of Germany, van Baarle – who resides in Pittsburgh, PA – also serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of LANXESS Corporation and President of the Americas region. In addition to her leadership of the Americas region, the company’s leading sales market, she holds global responsibility for Human Resources and serves as the Labor Director. She also drives growth in the company’s Lubricant Additives Business, Polymer Additives Business and Rhein Chemie business. Her proven business acumen and ability to deliver sustainable performance across these diverse portfolios underscores her strategic importance to LANXESS.

“I sincerely appreciate the continued trust placed in me by the Supervisory Board, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to serve another term on the Board of Management,” van Baarle said. “Together with my Board colleagues, I am fully committed to supporting our people and positioning LANXESS for long-term, sustainable growth.”

Through her role as a Board member with the American Chemistry Council, the industry’s leading trade association in the U.S., van Baarle also provides guidance and insights industrywide.

A native of the Netherlands, van Baarle relocated from the company’s headquarters in Cologne, Germany – where she had been for over a decade – to the Americas region in 2023.
