BASF is reinforcing its commitment to the North American water treatment industry by introducing NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 certified sodium metabisulfite and sodium sulfite grades, providing customers with a reliable source of high-quality products for municipal, industrial, and formulated water treatment applications. Together with ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride, these certified sulfite grades form a robust portfolio of inorganic chemicals for the water value chain.
NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 certification is a critical requirement for water treatment chemicals across North America. With its certified sulfite grades, BASF is increasing customer options to help meet regulatory expectations while delivering consistent, reliable performance. Through rigorous manufacturing standards, BASF delivers dependable consistency and supply reliability for sodium metabisulfite and sodium sulfite, supported by regional sales expertise and an expanded global technical network.
“Our customers depend on certified products they can trust, along with a supplier that can deliver consistently and support them locally,” said Jan Nouwen, BASF Senior Vice President, Monomers North America. “By offering NSF/ANSI/CAN 60‑certified sodium metabisulfite and sodium sulfite, backed by BASF’s integrated production network and strong North American presence, we help water treatment customers operate with confidence.
