AkzoNobel has expanded its superdurable Interpon D2525 Anodic powder coatings collection in Vietnam, India and Thailand, in response to increasing demand from architects and designers and reflecting regional architectural trends favoring metallic aesthetics and durable finishes suited to tropical climates.

The collection comprises 18 striking shades that deliver the sleek look of anodized aluminum, combined with the sustainability and durability benefits of a powder coating.

The enhanced collection offers bold, on-trend shades of bronze, red, and brown, complementing the already established palette of black, silver, and gold. The range not only broadens creative possibilities but also delivers more uniform, easily repairable metallic alternatives to anodized aluminium. Anodic shades are closely aligned to the region’s preference for metallic tones, as well as delivering stronger chemical resistance, a wider spectrum of colors, and improved cost and environmental efficiencies.

By using powder coatings, rather than anodized aluminum, the application process reduces the need for acid-based pre-treatments and significantly lowers water consumption. In addition, Anodic powder coatings can mask a wide range of surface imperfections across all grades of aluminium, enabling manufacturers to use lower cost substrates while reducing both material costs and reject rates.

Free from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and supported by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), the Interpon D2525 range has been independently verified for its sustainability performance.

Engineered for longevity, the Interpon D2525 range delivers exceptional durability, maintaining color and gloss retention, even under the high UV, tropical climates seen in Thailand, India and Vietnam. This high level of weather resistance is independently certified and supported by a 25-year performance warranty (Qualicoat Class 2/GSB Master/AAMA 2604), provided the powder coating is applied by an Interpon D Approved Applicator.

The expanded Anodic range is designed to meet the evolving needs of architects and designers. Simon Timmins, Regional Commercial Director South Asia, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, says: “Architects are always looking for finishes that help them push creative boundaries — and that’s exactly what our enlarged Interpon D Anodic range delivers. These rich new red, bronze, and brown tones bring warmth and depth to a design, while the built-in sustainability benefits make it easier to meet performance and environmental standards without compromise.”
