BASF is expanding its spray polyurethane foam (SPF) portfolio with WALLTITE RSB, a next-generation, closed-cell spray polyurethane foam. In response to the growing demand for more sustainable building materials, WALLTITE RSB combines industry-leading performance with a blend of recycled and renewable content for a lower overall carbon footprint.

BASF engineered the system with a proprietary resin formulation that incorporates both recycled and biobased raw materials. The result is a spray foam insulation solution that enables customers’ green transformation with transparent, third-party verified environmental benefits, including reduced embodied carbon.

“We want to create double-added value for our customers by providing high-performance and sustainable solutions, “said Nancy Houle, BASF Business Director for Spray Polyurethanes North America, “WALLTITE RSB supports green building programs by offering two key advantages: it can improve the energy efficiency throughout the building’s lifespan and lower embodied carbon from the outset of construction.”

WALLTITE RSB’s credentials include pending USDA BioPreferred® Program certification and UL Solutions validation of recycled and biobased content. In addition, a manufacturer-specific Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) confirms measurable reductions in embodied carbon compared to conventional formulations.[3] These accreditations make WALLTITE RSB an ideal option for projects pursuing LEED® certification, meeting EPA Preferred Purchasing recommendations, or aligning with both public and private sector low-carbon construction mandates.
