Water Treatment Plant in WV
● Groundbreaking recently took place for
a new water treatment plant being
installed at Elementis Specialties’
facility in Charleston, WV. The $3.2
million water purification system
will produce near drinking-quality
water for reuse in manufacturing,
which will eventually reduce the
amount of wastewater sent to the
Charleston sanitary waste treatment
facility by more than 300,000 gallons
per day, according to the company.
By installing this water purification
technology system that uses an
ultra-filtration reverse osmosis
process, the plant will recycle and
reuse 90% of the water previously
discharged from its manufacturing
processes.
Elementis plans to begin water
treatment operations on March 31
and to be fully operational by July.
