Grupo Solid is one of Central America’s leading paint manufacturers, with operations in every Central American country, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. The company, which was founded in 1955 when it opened its first Paleta Paint store, serves a variety of paints and coatings segments, including architectural, industrial, wood, and automotive refinishing.
Since its beginnings in 1955, Grupo Solid has become one of the leading paint manufacturers in Central America and is the largest paint company in Guatemala. In addition to Guatemala, Grupo Solid has operations in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. Among its best-known brands are Corona, Paleta, Modelo and Transocean. Grupo Solid has a distribution network of more than 8,000 independent CORONA hardware stores, 500 MODELO brand stores, and 100 PALETA paint stores, according to the company.
